The Toot Toot Toots are a foot stompin’, horn honkin’, go-go dancing, and psychedelic freak-out. Five members on record and up to nine on stage.
The Toots‘ live shows are a haphazard spectacle filled with sweat, glitter and trumpets. A garage, country, big band bonanza whose songs tell ol’ tales of rural Australian misfits.
The Toot Toot Toots formed in Melbourne early in 2009 and over the past two years, have travelled up and down the east coast, released two EPs, received high rotation on several Australian radio stations and signed with Spanish and Australian record labels (Grabaciones de Impacto/Spooky). The Toots have also shared the stage with many abroad and local heroes including Bob Log III, Graveyard Train, Ned Collette and Puta Madre Brothers, amongst others.
The Toots are currently working on their debut album to follow up Curse the Crow, a six track EP which tells the story of an ill-fated Australian family. The upcoming album takes influence from old Spaghetti Western soundtracks with dusty twanging guitars, galloping drums and mariachi style horns combined with the Toots‘ trademark gruff melodies.
