Weeks before Brendan Maclean takes to the silver screen in Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby he will bring his acclaimed band to Melbourne for one night only at The Famous Spiegeltent, debuting new material alongside a star studded line up of guests.
The Sydney songwriter delivers his own original music and a few ingenious interpretations of the world’s great Divas. He encapsulates the stories of folk with the fireworks of pop, seamlessly weaving tales from a powder-pink stained pillow and the world through his irony-free hipster glasses.
Brendan delivers his narrative lyricism with powerful vocals, commanding piano skills and a hint of ukulele for good luck. Rufus Wainwright, Patrick Wolf and Paul Capsis have all been used to invoke Maclean’s blend of flamboyant yet authentic live act.
